I hold a bachelor's degree in Geological Sciences with a concentration in environmental and engineering geology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). While a student at UKZN, I became a member of the Geological Society of Southern Africa (Underground Water Division). I was determined to advance my career in the field of earth science and explore beyond the present horizons.
In 2014, I was awarded a scholarship by the Department of Higher Education to enrol in my second primary degree in Geophysics. Before that, I enrolled in a foundation course at Tongji University (Shanghai) where I graduated top of my class and received an outstanding award (2014-2015). I obtained my second degree in Geophysics with a narrow interest in gravity and magnetism from the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). While at CUG (Wuhan), I joined the research group researching terrestrial bodies including Mars and the Moon. In 2018, I was given an award by CUG before graduating top in my class.
Determined to go even further, I moved to the city of Beijing and enrolled in a master's programme in Geophysics with CUGB to develop and meet my career goals through the academic edge, the diverse and dynamic exposure, and the networking opportunities.
In addition to being a student ambassador, I am an academic representative for my cohort. In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities, community service, mindful meditation, travelling, and snorkelling.
